The Every Other Day Diet is a diet developed by John Daugirdas in his book The QOD Diet: eat well every day. This diet proposes the idea that you eat relatively normally in a day, but in the second day switches to a low-calorie fast. The idea is that people stick with a diet that allows them to eat relatively normally on alternate days. This concept of intermittent fasting has shown some early promise in mice with the job in terms of combating the disease. In addition, there has been some work indicating that a fast every other day can extend the life.

The Every Other Day Diet of all types of diets (EODD) is written by a man who hates to diet. That’s right. Jon Benson, hates dieting. So why is offering a second edition of his plan EODD?

Well, Jon thinks this is nonsense. A diet full of such extreme depravity will not all the time. Instead of dying of hunger and deprivation, diet EODD uses what is called planning variance. You’ll Burn Days and days supply. In the days Burn, you’ll eat low calorie foods that are high in protein and contains a good amount of carbohydrates. In the days of feeding, you get to eat whatever you want – within reason. The idea is that there is enough variety in their diet that are neither starving or overeating.

A key part of this diet plan Snapp ® is the food or fitness plan Snapp. This is something new included only in the second edition of this book. Snapp means smoothies, nuts, apples, Protein, Produce. This is a simple feed system created by Jon to help you stay on the plan without the hassle of spending hours in the kitchen preparing special dietary meals. Hooray!

There are five plans of the foods on this diet. The First Plan (Beginners), the Life Plan Phase 1 (beginners and intermediate diet), phase 2 Life Plan (fat burning intense), the Plan Extreme (bodybuilders), and the ultimate plan (Fitness Obsessed). The last section of the book is something that many other diet books lack: a comprehensive recipe section! You get delicious recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus smoothies and snacks. While the book itself does not include a detailed weekly meal plan, one of the books includes one bonus.
